This is a highly attractive market for
practitioners but also a demanding one, presenting a number of
challenges, particularly in the area of tax planning – given the
current government’s attitude to this area.
The course will look at the technical aspects
involved in looking after these clients and the latest tax
planning opportunities available. However it will also look at
some of the other issues involved for firms developing this area
of their practice, including demonstrating value to these
clients and managing these types of client relationships. |

Trusts are frequently used in family situations
to mitigate capital taxes and for asset protection from divorce,
bankruptcy and extravagance. As the lead professional the
accountant is often asked to be one of the trustees.
This course is specifically designed to enable
the accountant who has received little legal instruction to know
the duties he will be obliged to undertake as well as spotting
the opportunities offered by the uses of trusts and probably
most importantly when to call for help!
Trust tax and general law is in the process of
change. The course will obviously need to look at the impact of
the Trustee Act 2000 and the current and proposed reforms of
trust taxation by the current government.
